The Pittsburgh Pirates are a professional baseball team based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They are a member of the National League Central Division in Major League Baseball (MLB). The team was established in 1882 and is one of the oldest continuously operating teams in MLB.
Throughout their history, the Pirates have won five World Series championships, most recently in 1979. They have also had notable players such as Honus Wagner, Roberto Clemente, and Andy Van Slyke, who played for the team during its early years.
