Designated Hitter

The oft-maligned, yet oh-so-crucial hero of the American League world: the Designated Hitter.

As if on schedule like an early morning alarm blaring David Ortiz' rendition of "I'm Coming Back", teams have found their designated (get it?:) groove in July.

Right now, in one of baseball’s oddest traditions, we’ve got AL titans clinging for dear life on atop our standings board while NL power-houses are soaring like planes at cruise altitude – all because of one seemingly innocuous spot.

But we, as experts and die-hard aficionados know how vital the role is - even as casual baseball observers have tuned into it through their local talkative color reporter narrations, who remind fans: you wouldn’, t do THAT with our guys... (we think they got this far)!

On top in league and standing comes those ace Boston Sox Red Sox - with Aaron Juiced (I heard it rhymes?:- taking top DH billing each month with consistent batting over power production making other division rivals squabb them up. This leaves behind them teams running close second like Yankees looking better every now a, NY team showing that they still belong in title fights this seasons

In contrast the AL West - which could put into an end, while Astros look solid having found steady place atop the leader board since June – though Rays might just prove the "A team here” taking top 5 DH batting average position after making changes to their rotation.

All of which means you can bet MLB regular games are really down last as teams take breaks ahead on post season seeding

It is true; baseball's an interesting dance, sometimes requiring too good a choreographed execution – we call it 'strategically setting your line' and the Designated one does make a big appearance
